I am looking to get a job in the banking industry. I hear they have relaxed the dressed code and I am not sure how to dress. What do you suggest?
Great question! Don't believe everything you hear - few may have relaxed the dress code but not most. The Financial and Banking industries are still considered very conservative and high networth arenas.
In addition, you need to put your best foot forward, so I suggest you wear a conservative pant or skirt suit. Never base your decision on what you hear, but rather after researching the environment of the company. Good Luck!
Salary is a delicate conversation. Without knowing the details of the position or employer I can really only offer general tips.
Don't bring up salary. Get a good idea of what the position entails and what is expected of you. Let the employer broach this topic. The best you can do is be prepared. Research the job and see what the salary is for comparable positions. Salary.com is a great starting point.
